Woolies Scoop – Holiday Summer Dressing

In a few days, I’m off to beautiful Cape Town to enjoy some much-needed R&R with my hubby, and I’m sure many of you have summer holidays planned this festive season.

But what do you wear? What do you pack? Where do you shop? Well, I’m happy to report that I was at Woolworths the other day, scouting for some essential summer holiday pieces for my trip, and I found just about everything I need to make it a summer of fun!
You’ll find beautiful dresses, gorgeous fitting swimsuits and accessories that will add that je ne sais quoi to your holiday dressing.
What I’m really loving is how most of these pieces work together, and by simply slipping on a pair of heels, adding a cinched belt and metallic bag, how easy it is to take your day dress to a bar-approved look, fit for a night of cocktails and dancing at St Yves in Cape Town.
Take a look…

Black & White Delight

When in doubt wear black and white! This polka dot bikini (R150 top and R100 shorts) will have you looking hot on the beach. Just add a gorgeous white sun hat (R99.95) and you’re ready to rock those waves.
Going for sundowners at the bar afterwards? Just slip on this easy black and white contrasting print kaftan (R250) and layer with two strands of freshwater pearls (R220 each including stud earrings).

Tropical Heat

Beat the heat with this season’s hottest colour mix; coral, orange and hot pink! Mix it up with pops of yellow for a truly tropical sensation.
This pink one-piece swimsuit (R250) is anything but plain! I love the tie detail in the front. Pair it with an oversized sun hat (R120) and this beautiful sarong (R120) for an eye-catching beach outfit.

Tribal Prints

This multi coloured printed dress (R150) was one of my absolute fave pieces at Woolies. It’s pretty, it’s girly and it can be worn as a day dress with flats, or transformed into a fabulous dress for dinner with friends.
To take it from day to night, all I did was cinch it in at the waist using this very versatile belt (R99.95), added this beautiful Studio.W metallic leather clutch (R699) and a gold loop necklace, Studio.W (R120) that picks up the belt loops and metallic clutch.
This dress is a winner if you want to cut down on packing space for your trip!

The Maxi Dress

If you’re not already sporting this summers’ must-do dress trend, the Maxi, then this one from Suga Suga (R375) is a great option, thanks to its wonderful mix of colour and African inspired prints.
It already has a built-in belt, so doesn’t need too much styling, but a pretty beaded necklace (R89.95) and an oversized sun hat (R130) adds a nice touch.
